Substation Protection Design – Manildra, Clermont, Wemen Solar Farms

PCE worked with the Electrical Balance of Plant contractor Entura to assist in the delivery of multiple grid-connected solar farm projects in Victoria, NSW and Queensland ranging in size from 48.5MW to 88MW. The protection design component of the projects included design of the 66/33kV solar farm substation comprising 66kV CB, 66kV VT, 66kV/33kV transformer and 33kV switchgear (Wemen, Clermont) or 11kV outdoor switchgear arrangement (Manildra).

We were involved in all aspects of substation protection design including protection scheme formulation, protection settings and CT calculations, substation LV and control cable schedules, equipment specifications, review of equipment supplier drawings including switchgear and protection/metering panels and LV AC and DC system sizing calculations.
