Mine Power Station Protection
Mine Power Station Protection
An Australian metalliferous mine replacing its existing power station engaged PCE to provide protection settings and relay programming for its new power station. The new power station consists of 62MW of 11kV generation across two sites connected via a 66kV transmission line with 20MVA 11/66kV step up transformers at either end.
PCE worked with the power station build/own/operate contractor to assist in the protection design for the power station. This included determining protection settings, designing logic, designing GOOSE messaging and programming relay files for all generators (3 types, ranging from 2.3MW - 8.8MW), feeders, transformers and the transmission line.
