Lightning Protection and Insulation Coordination
Lightning Protection
Lightning protection studies are conducted according to the standard AS/NZS 1768-2007. A risk assessment is completed on the installation to determine the extent of lightning protection required and then a lightning protection design is prepared based on a rolling sphere design with standard air terminals or alternately on the application of a dynasphere design.
Insulation Coordination
PCE undertake insulation co-ordination studies to determine compliance of equipment and designs with rated insulation levels. Studies investigate the full range of transient and overvoltages that may occur on an electric network to determine the require insulation level. The studies take into account the effect is surge arresters installed on the network and make recommendation for additional surge protection as required.
