Fault Analysis and FMEA

Power Control Eengineers will investigate and analyse system faults and equipment failures to determine root causes of a failure and make recommendations to rectify problems and prevent future recurrences.

The investigations may include inspections of the faulted equipment both on site and at repairers premises, gathering information from site including witness reports, relay trip records, SCADA event logs and transient waveform recordings and then analyzing the information to determine the cause of the fault or failure.

The findings may be presented in a detailed engineering report together with recommendations on preventing future recurrences.
