Remote CB racking unit

PCE supply a range of circuit breaker remote racking units developed specifically to allow operators to engage medium and low voltage circuit breaker trucks from a remote position in a substation.

The remote racking units use a 24Vdc geared motor with a battery supply to rack breakers into and out of service while the operator is positioned a safe distance away in case of a fault occurring during the racking process.

There have been a number of severe injuries and even fatalities recorded when failures have occurred during switchgear racking and switching operations. With the remote racking units and remote switching devices fitted this risk is eliminated.

PCE’s latest remote racking unit is fully portable housed in a single aluminium case weighing under 15kg. This unit allows operators to carry the unit between substations and access substations in elevated locations which was more difficult with earlier trolley mounted units.
